Originally from Lebanon, I teach and translate Arabic, French and English.
I have a Ph.D. in cultural studies and comparative literature and an M.F.A. in translation and creative writing from the University of Arkansas. I have been an interpreter and a translator for eleven years, and have worked with many international organizations, publishers, newspapers and journals.
I am passionate about languages and cultures, and I am constantly studying and writing about languages as well as the people who speak them. My daily life is immersed in languages and I love it!
Why Nicole Fares?
My interest in languages exposed me to opportunities such as travel, study abroad and work in many countries. I was able to employ these experiences, along with my academic background, to acquire additional training and discipline in order to develop and refine my translation skills.
And with my analytical and communication skills that I have acquired throughout my years of experience as a translator and language teacher, I am able to work with others, immerse myself in any topic, and communicate information in a clear and concise manner while maintaining the style and voice of the original text.
